Matthew 3:7-12

From the beginning, God has bound Himself to His people in a covenant as intimate as marriage. Yet when we chase other loves, Scripture calls it what it is — spiritual adultery. It breaks the heart of God. Into this unfaithfulness steps John the Baptist, thundering, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” His cry is more than a call to turn from sin — it is a summons to leave a life of betrayal and return to our true Groom. Commitment to Christ means forsaking all others, renewing our vows, and living in faithful devotion to Him until the day we see Him face-to-face.
